kirkby lonsdale brass band home band line up band vacancies events gallery kirkby lonsdale brass band contest band history kirkby lonsdale brass band contest - sunday 16th june 2019. it's that time of year again and we're starting to plan the kirkby lonsdale brass band contest which this year will take place on sunday 16th june. please see the contest page for further details of how to apply. ** ever wanted to play an instrument in a brass band? ** march 2019 - last year we had a good response to our appeal for new learners/returners to the band world. the group commenced in february 2018 and we have a nice relaxed gathering of players including players of cornet, baritone and euphonium. several of the group are brass players who have not played for a number of years - and they are developing in strength, stamina and sound every week. the learners are also making good progress and are benefiting from playing in a small group. we were particularly pleased that some of the players were able to play with us at the good friday service in kirkby lonsdale and hope it won't be long before they're able to play in the full band at practice and at our engagements throughout the year. however - we still need new players if you are tempted to join us for free brass tuition in a friendly group then we'll see you on mondays at 6:30pm at kl rugby club. ************************** kirkby lonsdale brass band will be offering a weekly learners group with free tuition from experienced musicians starting on monday 12th february, 2018, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at kirkby lonsdale rugby club.
